I got stuck for a couple of hours on a snow-covered interstate Saturday while emergency crews cleared a 20+ car pileup. In the car WITH me? Why, three separate radio stations, all local AMs, ALL broadcasting a Phlush Phlegmball rerun from earlier in the week. Scan buttons are SO handy! Click. Some woman with a voice made for print doing the same schtick Phlegmball was doing 200 kilocycles ago. Click. “Buy Gold Now! Gold Line has been selling gold for over . . . ” Click. “And if you call now, and tell them you heard it on Fox Radio . . .” Click.
Buncha goddamn phonies. And did I mention I just found out J.D. Salinger is dead?
